Botswana, located in southern Africa, borders Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Kalahari Desert covers 70% of the untamed land and offers lots of exciting wildlife. But Botswana is also known for its diamond mines, which generally have a good and stable economy.
Botswana is one of the absolute best countries to go on safari in. This is because the largest inland delta in the world, the Okavango Delta, is located here. Due to the massive wetland area that the delta covers, all of the animals from 'The Big Five' are attracted.
In the Okavango Delta there are i.a. Moremi Game Reserve. Here you can stay in the most beautiful safari lodges, which are NOT fenced in unlike many safari lodges in other countries. In this way, the curious animals can get really close to the various safari lodges, and this helps to ensure you a completely unforgettable safari experience!
Zambia borders Congo and Tanzania to the north, Malawi and Mozambique to the east, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia to the south, and Angola to the west. The country is named after the river Zambezi, which is one of Africa's longest rivers. Around and in the river there is a rich wildlife, which also makes it a favorite place to go on a river cruise. These river cruises can last anywhere from a few hours to 4 nights.
Zambia is also known for the spectacular Victora Falls, located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The waterfall is named after Queen Victoria by David Livingstone, who was the first European to see the waterfall in 1855.
