Costa Rica is without a doubt one of the favorite countries in Central America. I, Monika, have traveled around the country on several occasions, just as I have visited the small country several times while working at sea as a Destination Manager on the smaller cruise ships. This is why I have completely lost my heart to this little paradise with the always welcoming population.
Costa Rica offers a rich and completely unique wildlife, volcanoes, national parks, tropical rainforests, more or less pristine jungles and not least attractive beaches. If you are into tropical climate and fantastic nature with fun and exciting experiences along the way, then Costa Rica is the perfect country to make a round trip in.
GOOD TIP: You can combine a shorter or longer round trip in Costa Rica with a cruise in Central America and / or the Caribbean
Costa Rica borders on Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Caribbean Sea to the East and Ecuador at the southern part of the island of Isla del Coco. The capital and the largest city is San José with about one third of the country's population in the metropolitan area.
Costa Rica is actually the most prosperous country in Central America. There are many coffee plantations, cocoa plantations, banana plantations and pineapple plantations in the country, which in addition to eco tourism also help maintain a good and healthy economy.
